Ja, diese Erfahrung habe ich bei meinen Kunden auch gemacht. Es springt immer mal rum. Eine wirkliche Erklärung (die jetzt auch noch plausibel ist) hab ich bis jetzt nicht gefunden. Leider!

Ich finde den Alexa-Rank als ganz grobe Einschätzung schon ganz ok. Nettes Spielzeug für ein schnelles Benchmarking. Trotzdem würde ich mich auf den Alexa-Rank allein nicht verlassen, sondern mehrere Faktoren einbeziehen. Diese Vergleichsfaktoren könnten z.B. auch der PageRank, Backlinks (und wie setzen sich diese Backlinks zusammen), Domainalter, Aufmachung und Erscheinung der Seite, gesunder Menschenverstand usw. sein.
Bei mir spiegelt der Alexa-Rank ebenfalls nicht die tatsächlich Besucherzahlen wieder. Teilweise gibt es größere Besucheranstiege oder -abfälle laut Alexa, die ich in meinen Statistiken aber gar nicht nachvollziehen kann. Seit der Änderung des Ranking-Verfahrens (es wurden angeblich weitere Datenquellen hinzugezogen - whatever), sind die Angaben von Alexa aber besser und genauer geworden.

sorry für eine “Noob” Frage zum Thema Alexa Rank, obwohl lernfähig bin ich durchaus. Beim gockeln hab ich aber nichts brauchbares dazu gefunden. (oder falsch gesucht?) Nun denn, warum wird bei (wie es scheint) vielen Seiten neben dem Alexa Rank ein Stern angezeigt, und bei einigen aber nicht. Würde mich über ein wenig Aufklärung freuen, und danke bereits im Vorraus.

ich beobachte auch täglich die Veränderung meines Alexa Rankings … Am Wochenende habe ich wenig Besucher und bin kurzweilig in den Top 100000 und in der Woche habe ich doppelt so viele Besucher und bin dann wieder auf Platz 200000 … Ok Werktags sind auch sicher mehr online als vielleicht am Wochenende … ich werde das mal weiterhin beobachten …
